The residents of Big Valley have spoken.

Following a by-election held on Feb. 20, Chantelle Janke, with 93 votes, and Timmothy Field, with 78 votes, have been elected to fill the two empty seats on Big Valley’s municipal council.

Other contenders in the four-way race were Elaine MacDonald, who gained 48 votes, and Harry Nibourg, who trailed with 34.

Janke and Field will be joining the remaining councillor, Danny Houle, when the council next meets and holds its organizational meeting.

The by-election was triggered following the resignation of former councillors Clark German and Amber Hoogenberg.
