The past few weeks even after the ball season had officially ended, Stettler’s ball diamonds would be surrounded by cars with groups of people playing slo-pitch through the evening.

Some dressed in their team colours such as the Sloppy Seconds and Limp Sticks Loose Mitts or LSLM as they call themselves, while others are in athletic clothes.

With a total of 12 teams in the league, it is one of Stettler’s very own endeavours, run by Cole Atkinson and Terry Bryce.

The 12 teams are as follows LSLM, Hoovers, I’d Hit That!, Wolf Pack, Jager Bombers, Sloppy Seconds, Mound Pounders, Dirty Rob and the Boys, Power Line Drive, Multiple Scorgasms, Back Door Sliders and The Angels.

“We have guys and girls on our team that have never played ball,” said Hoovers captain Ryan Sampson. “But we’ve blown out some teams and have been blown away by others, it has been fun mostly.”

As the regular games come to an end later this week, the teams got together on Thursday evening, Aug. 4 when the last games were played to figure out a playoff schedule, which will follow a knock-out pattern.
