A shy, young calico cat bravely ventured forth from her carrier on Saturday, April 30, as she visited Home Hardware in Stettler with her handlers. The feline, Jade, will soon be up for adoption, and was acting as ambassador for Donalda Animal Rescue.

The rescue has been promoting awareness of animal adoption all through April, a month dedicated to just that. Cats have been fostered at Stettler's Pet Valu (none remaining very long, as the amiable felines are quickly adopted), with money there going to a fundraiser to help cover the costs of the rescue.

Based out of Donalda, the rescue actually serves much of the northern part of Stettler County and some of the neighbouring counties, and fosters all sorts of animals, though cats and dogs are the majority of their fosters. The animals are neutered or spayed and up-to-date on all shots before being adopted out at no cost, though the rescue hopes people will make donations to help cover the cost.
