It was an organized mess of musical tables as men and women competed in the annual MASH pool league tournament, held this year at the Stettler Agriplex.

The tournament moved to the Agriplex this year because the Community Hall next door had been booked for the Kidsport Gala, resulting in a smaller space and less tables, league secretary Peter Simons noted. It created a few delays and a bit of a headache for organizers, but the event remained fun despite the hiccups, he said.

Roughly 100 people came to play at the tournament, which pays out roughly $11,000 in prize money. The league itself is part of the VNEA pool league.

In team play, the A Division of the tournament was won by the team "Big Slice," made up of players Bruce Desserre, Marty Cann, Bruce Docherty, Rick Ludwig and Gerd Liebe. The B division winning team was "Master Hackers," made up of Curstin Lotoski, Corey Rollo, Darrin Bosomsworth, Mitch Lotoski and T.J. Ruby.

In singles, the A division was won by Tony Jackson, with Curtis Lotoski in second. B division was won by Robin Derr, with T.J. Ruby in second, and C division was won by Gerri Anderson, second to Dixie Orr.

Most improved player went to Kelsey Lynn, top male shooter went to Craig Cox, top female shooter went to Christine Morris, most consecutive wins went to Glen Fisher, and regular season winning team went to Big Slice.

"The league is always looking for new players and teams," Simons said. People interested in signing up can call the league's president, Jim Lynham, at 403-742-7689 for more information.
