The Vipers doubled Okotoks Outlaws Orange 16-8 on Saturday in Strathmore, after dropping a 5-4 decision to the host Acme Red Sox earlier in the day.

Last week, Stettler won and lost home games. The Vipers fell 10-8 against the league-leading and unbeaten Camrose Cougars Royal (7-0) on Wednesday, two nights after clubbing the Red Deer Braves 18-2.

The Vipers, a first-year team made up of players from Stettler, Big Valley, Castor and Coronation, posted a 3-4 record in the second round of provincial tiering play.

Now slotted in Tier 2 for Round 3, Stettler is back on the road for the next two weekends. This Saturday, the Vipers face Leduc and Okotoks at Leduc at noon and 3 p.m., respectively.

Next weekend, Stettler meets the Edmonton Angels on July 7 in 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. games at Edmonton (Millwoods).
