The fourth annual Stettler Triathlon attracted 59 participants Sunday morning for a swim at the Stettler Recreation Centre, along with a bike ride and a run on nearby streets.
The participants ranged from six years old to seniors in competitive and recreational events.
“We were extremely happy with the turnout,” said Town of Stettler representative Haley Howland, who organized the race with Robin Schwartz of Thrive360 fitness centre.
“Next year’s date has already been set for Sunday, Aug. 11. We hope to get more athletes and keep this event growing.”
Howland thanked CJ Oprea, the race technical delegate, and all other volunteers who showed up Sunday.
“Without them, we could not have done it.”
