A tough race course – Last year’s Highrider 4x4 Challenge race at the Tail Creek race track provided some spectacular scenes for both racers and spectators and this year more and better ones are promised in July.

This summer, Tail Creek Raceway on Highway 21 will become the venue in July for Canada’s qualifying 4x4 race for an international event.

A press release from the organizers, Hammer King productions, said the winner of the 4x4 races during the first weekend in July, named “Highriders Ultra4 Canadian Qualifier” would be taking part in the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers in Johnson Valley, California.

“The Highriders Challenge is beyond doubt the biggest, toughest and most significant off-road event on the Canadian 4x4 calendar, and it just got bigger,” the press statement said.

“After 10 years of the Highriders Challenge, Tail Creek Raceway will play host to the first International King of the Hammers Qualifier.”

“One hundred drivers from across the globe will attempt to obtain a very selective spot in the race and the Highriders Challenge is the first of its kind internationally,” it said.

The Highriders Challenge is expected to attract over 2000 spectators a day and hundreds of campers for the weekend event.

Live music and other special events will be part of entertainment over the weekend.
