Local athlete, Reesa Garez,(back row 5th from left) along with her Red Deer Renegades teammates and coaches, won gold at U16 Tier 2 Provincial Outdoor Soccer Tournament. The Renegades won 1-0 Friday night against Juventas which was the top team out of Edmonton.
The game Saturday morning ended in a tie against the top team out of Calgary ,Calgary Blizzards. They played Ft. McMurray Fury and won 2-1 and advanced to the finals.
The final game on Sunday August 18 was against South West United out of Calgary and again it was a low scoring game of 1-0 for the Renegades team, which earned them a gold medal.
