Stettler's S.W.ATT 2.0 wins first two games

Stettler's Softball With Attitude (S.W.ATT 2.0) U16 softball team played Lacombe on Monday evening, May 9 to defeat the home team 13-8.

Stettler's Softball With Attitude (S.W.ATT 2.0) U16 softball team played Lacombe on Monday evening, May 9 to defeat the home team 13-8.

"Stettler's speed on the base pass and timely batting proved to be the difference in the game," said coach Rick Stotz. "Solid defence and pitching helped the victory as Lacombe is a strong team and a rivalry is sure to follow as they play in the Girls Prairie League Softball (GPLS) with the Stettler team."

Coach Stotz was pleased with the performance, this being the girls second game.

"The improvement in fundamentals and team unity is improving in every outing," added Stotz.

The girls played their first game of the year on Wednesday, May 4 in Red Deer under the lights to defeat their opponents Red Deer 6-2 in a convincing game.

"The young ladies played a great defensive game in a 6-2 seven inning victory," said coach Rick Stotz. "It was a great team effort with good pitching and defence."

Five Stettler pitchers combined in giving up 2 runs on 1 hit, 3 walks, and 9 strike outs.
