With the ball season in full swing, and most teams wrapping up leagues, Stettler U14 Team 1 girls are also preparing and getting ready for provincials in Irma.
On Wednesday, June 21, Stettler played Trochu in a home game, and although they were unable to beat the opponents, head coach Marsha Mailer is positive and hopeful.
“Our girls are having a great season, and we are gearing up for provincials in Irma, from July 14 to 16,” said Mailer. “We are a team of hitters but as of lately we have been struggling to get everyone on the bats.”
Mailer is confident that with time, the team will come around.
“I am sure that all of these girls will be hitting the cover off come provincial time,” Mailer added. “The girls are a group of athletic, aggressive girls who seem to rise up when faced with a challenge, so moving towards provincials I am confident these girls will be the team to beat!”
Stettler will play their next home game on Wednesday, July 5 against Drumheller.
