Stettler’s minor hockey teams ended the season over the weekend with several teams winning consolation titles and banners in their tiers.

Provincial champions bantam Scotia Bank team won the silver medal in their tier 1 league on Thursday night, March 25.

On the same day, Stettler peewee Kinsmen Storm won the consolation banner for Tier 3 in Olds. They had to play a home and home total point series to win. The first game played earlier in Stettler ended in a 4 - 4 tie. The local boys went to Olds on Thursday and that game ended in a 2 to 2 tie after regulation. When the overtime failed to decide the winner, the Storm finally won it in a shoot out 3 to 2.

A day earlier, midget A Storm beat Calmar 9-0 to claim the consolation banner in their Tier 3. Goalkeeper Mackenzie Scheel was reported to have played the best game of the season stopping 28 shots.

Atom AA Elks ended their season on Sunday March 27 in third place after what was described their best game of the season.

Atom A Woody’s Warriors ended the season in Spruce View and Innisfail at the tournament of champions advancing as far as the B event final which was decided in the second overtime.

Stettler atom B Elks hockey team. finished their season with a “B Final” win at the tournament of champions in Olds on the weekend after losing the B event final to Sylvan Lake.

The Stettler female peewee squad returned from Viking sporting silver medals for their great efforts over the weekend.The team played six games over the weekend, four in round-robin play and two play offs games.

• Atom Tier 2

Stettler Elks crushed Sundre A team 8-1 on March 28.

Jackson Zimmerman and Tye Mulgrove led the attack with two goals.

Liam McCann, Danny Schwarzenberger, Paul DuToit and Luke Skocdopole each added one for Stettler.

Stettler Elks edged Sundre A team 8-7 on March 27.

Brett Coleman, Tye Molgrove each popped a pair of goals for Stettler.

Jaden Richards, Ryan Mielke, Luke Skocdopole and Jackson Zimmerman added one each.

• Peewee Tier 2

Stettler DQ Blizzards cooled Red Deer Versa-Line 8-1 on March 27.

Quentin Greenwood led the way with two goals.

Stefan DuToit, Denton Repchuk and Tanner Zimmerman added one each.

• Bantam Tier 1

Stettler Scotiabank Storm bowed 7-4 to Kneehill Chiefs of Three Hills on March 25.

Adam Ternes scored two goals for Stettler while Dylan Houston and Micah Croker added one each.

Stettler Scotiabank Storm fell 4-1 to the Chiefs on March 24.

Micah Croker scored the lone Stettler goal.
