When the Stettler Minor Hockey Association holds its annual general meeting at the recreation centre on April 28 at 7 p.m., there will be many seats to be vacated by outgoing members and they will need to filled by newcomers.
This year, the association will need to fill 10 executive positions, according to Cindy Zimmerman, secretary of the Stettler minor hockey association.
“That’s just normal. Every two years, terms end. Every year, there are open positions,” said Zimmerman, who will not be serving another term, herself.
“I’m ready for a break. Somebody else can take the turn,” she said.
The positions up for nomination are treasurer, secretary and vice president of the association. In the board of directors seven positions will be open to candidates who might be willing to work in the following functions: fundraising chairperson, equipment director and directors for the five age groups.
Those who believe they have a contribution to make to further development of minor hockey in Stettler are requested to join the meeting.
Zimmermann also made clear that those who would like to work for the association would need to be nominated or have their nominations seconded by another individual.
