Stettler Lightning defeats Coaldale Copperheads in nailbiter

Stettler scores in shootout, defeating Coaldale 3-2

Stettler Lightning defeated Coaldale Copperheads 3-2 in a tight, fast-paced home game Oct. 20.

Coaldale got first blood scoring in the first period.

Stettler came back and scored in the second period tying the game. Lightning Logan Spady made the goal with assists from Tye Mulgrove and Jeff Ternes.

With about two minutes left in the game, Coaldale scored, leading 2-1. But with only 11 seconds left in the game, Stettler came on strong to score once again tying the game. Erik Rost scored the goal with assists from Kieran Rost and Quade Cassidy.

Stettler Lightning ready for a win

No one scored in sudden death overtime.

During a shootout Stettler’s Rylee Jacobson scored the winning goal.
