Stettler Curling Club’s 2010 Ladies’ Bonspiel was won by the Stettler/Erskine rink of Christine Erichsen with Sheri Morbeck third, Alesia Risley second and Lisa Duffin lead.
The victorious team in the A event won 7-2 over Wendy Right’s rink from Lacombe in the final game on Sunday afternoon.
Until they reached the final, the winning team eliminated Crystal Smith’s rink in the first round, edged over Taschuk team before beating Reinbold team to reach the semi finals to play against Caseley team.
In the B event, Deb Hiller’s team from Stettler, with skip Tracy Volker, Deb Hiller, second, Brandi Roper, third and Jaclyn Delhommeau, lead, won the top spot after an extra-end play which ended 6-5 in favor of the local team against the visiting team from Delburne.
In the C event, again a local team took the top prize.
Suzanne Bond’s team, comprising Bond as skip, Kelly Greenwood as third, Daylon Brown as second and Brittany Konowalyk as lead edged 9-6 over Glenda Kettel’s team from Erskine.
Stettler Curling Club’s closing mixed bonspiel is scheduled to start on Friday, March 26.
