Stettler Bantam beats Rocky Mtn. House, ties with Airdrie

Stettler Bantam played hard and overpowered Rocky Mtn. House on Saturday evening, Feb. 11 in a home game, 5-4.

Stettler’s Reece Kranzler started their scoring, equalizing in the first period, but as their opponents surged ahead, Connor Robertson scored with the first period ending 2-2.

In the second period, two goals by the opponents put Stettler in the backseat with Rocky Mtn. House leading 4-2.

Shay Anderson reduced the gap by scoring in the second period with Stettler trailing 4-3 into the third.

In the third period Stettler maintained the pressure, playing a great offensive game as Andrew Chapman scored twice, giving Stettler the much-needed win 5-4.


The following day, against Airdrie the Bantams were unable to pull off a win as they struggled to keep up.

At the beginning of the third period, Stettler trailed 4-2, both goals being scored by Kranzler.

However, determined to equalize, Stettler scored five goals in the third period with one more goal by Kranzler and two each by Anderson and Chapman.

Airdrie fought hard but managed to get in three more goals in the third period, with the game ending 7-7 in a tie.


Stettler Atom (AT2NE) played Didsbury in a home game, won 7-4 on Saturday, Feb. 11; played West Country in a home game on Sunday, Feb. 12, won 3-1.


Stettler Storm Peewee A (PT3N) played Delburne in a home game, tied 8-8 on Saturday, Feb. 11; played Olds in a home game on Sunday, Feb. 12, tied again 8-8.

Stettler Storm Peewee B (PT6SE) played Drumheller in an away game, won 10-7 on Saturday, Feb. 11; played them in a home game on Sunday, Feb. 12 and won again 9-4.


Stettler Bantam (BT3N) played Rocky Mtn. House in a home game, won 5-4 on Saturday, Feb. 11; played in an away game against Airdrie on Sunday, Feb. 12 and tied 7-7.

Stettler Bantam played Warburg in an away game on Sunday, Feb. 12 and won 7-3.


Stettler Midget A (MT1) played Red Deer in a home game, won 10-5 on Friday, Feb. 10.

Stettler Midget B (MT3N) played Kneehill in a home game on Sunday, Feb. 12 and lost 4-2.

Stettler Midget played Edson Midget in an away game on Saturday, Feb. 11 and won 16-1; played another away game against Edson, winning 21-1.
