The Stettler Agriplex had a buzz about it on Tuesday evening as cowboys and cowgirls descended upon the indoor arena to participate in the Stettler Junior Rodeo Series on July 26.

The rodeo events for the series throughout summer included barrels, poles, goat tying, breakaway and team roping for youth between ages six to 14, with three age categories, six to eight, nine to 11 and 12–14.

For barrels, the winners for six to eight age category were Kayla Hronek with 14.838 seconds, Macy Burns with 15.036 seconds, Kade Strandquist with 16.289 seconds and Leah Nickel with 17.252 seconds.

The winners for the nine to 11 years were Kendal Pierson with 13.548 seconds, Taylor Cholach with 13.649 seconds, Bobbi Henderson with 13.779 seconds and Charlee Resch with 14.376 seconds.

For the 12-14 age category, the winners were Justine Elliott with 13.396 seconds, followed by Keeley Grover with a time of 13.649 seconds, Cooper Resch with 14.167 seconds and Amy Shuckburgh with a time of 14.298 seconds.

The pole-bending winners were as follows in the six to eight-year-old category, Kade Strandquist with 21.662 seconds, Macy Burns with 23.498 seconds, Kayla Hronek with 23. 775 seconds and Leah Nickel with 24.205 seconds.

In the nine to 11-year-old category, the winners were Kendal Pierson with 19.110 seconds, Taylor Cholach with 19.534 seconds, Tess Thurston with 19.837 seconds and Kelly Cholach with 19.878 seconds.

In the 12-14 age category, the winner was Cooper Resch with 19.064 seconds, Justine Elliott with 19.429 seconds, Trey Erion with 20.310 seconds and Quincy Squair with 20.578 seconds.

For the goat tying event, the six to eight-year-old category had Kade Strandquist placing first with 19.51 seconds, followed by Caleb Fawcett with 20.59 seconds, Macy Burns with 22.01 seconds and Jayna Weatherly with a time of 27.02 seconds.

In the nine to 11-year-old category, the winner was Kendal Pierson with 10.50 seconds, followed by Tess Thurston with 13.02 seconds, Walker Warkentin with 13.51 seconds and Denim Ross with 14.91 seconds.

In the 12-14 age category, the winner was Tori Brower with a time of 8.33 seconds, followed by Cooper Resch with 10.25 seconds, Cole Warren with 12.85 seconds and Quincy Squair with a time of 13.35 seconds.

In the breakaway roping, the winner from the six to eight-year-old age category was Kade Strandquist with a time of 8.34 seconds, while in the nine to 11 year olds, it was Bobbi Henderson with a time of 3.32 seconds, followed by Denim Ross with 3.33 seconds, Cole Brain with 5.12 seconds and Aubrey Ross with 5.92 seconds.

In the 12-14-year-age group, Cole Warren had a time of 2.52 seconds with a penalty of 10, followed by Kyle Wanchuk with a time of 2.63 seconds with a penalty of 10 and Taiga Thorsteinsson with a time of 5.43 seconds with a penalty of 10 too.

Team roping and tie down roping were open events with no age categories.

The winner of team roping was Denton Burns and Braden Lange with a time of 9.33 seconds, followed by Kendal Pierson and Cole Brain with 10.43 seconds, Cooper Resch and Beau Cooper with 11.68 seconds and Walker Warkentin and Owen Wilkie with 14.44 seconds.

In the tie down roping event, the winner was Cole Warren with a time of 16.18 seconds, followed by Adam Shuckburgh with 16.95 seconds, Kyle Wanchuk with 17.85 seconds and Cooper Resch with a time of 19.14 seconds.
