Stettler alumni team captures the top spot at Bashaw’s performance challenge

Several Stettler athletes performed at the top of their potential at the second annual Sports Performance Challenge organized by the Bashaw School.

The winner of the competition in the alumni division was the Stettler team featuring Taylore Stuckey, Tyler Bissett, Ryan Staal and Brad Lawlor.

The event is composed of a series of challenging and fun events that push the athletes both physically and mentally.

“It is a non-traditional type of event with an emphasis on cooperation and sportsmanship in a competitive setting,” said Neil Isnor, principal of the Bashaw School and the main architect of the event

The school division competition was won for the second year in a row by Bashaw in a very close battle with West Central from Rocky Mountain House. David Thompson and Notre Dame from Red Deer were a very close third and fourth.

The individual student team results had Rocky teams in first and third with Bashaw team number 2 finishing in second.

Over 140 athletes took part with Bashaw having over 75 per cent of their high school students participating.
