Seniors’ golf tournament over, next comes men’s open at Stettler Elks Golf and Country Club

Thanks to pleasant weather, Stettler Elks Gulf and Country Club’s seniors open tournament went on without any problems last Friday, July 30 with men competing in three categories and ladies in just one.

The low gross winner in the men’s 50-59 age group was Mike Webster with 74 shots. In the low net in this category, there was a three-way tie for the low net title with Ron Duncan, Bryan Rymal and Stan Koppel all shooting 65.

In the 60-69 age group Orest Holubetz shot 82 to win the low gross title.

In the 70 and over category Tony Johner was the low gross winner and low net winner title went to Charlie Byrd.

In the ladies’ event, low gross title winner was Laura Scott with 95 shots and low net winner Di Kamlah shot 81 to claim the title.

Garry Douglas, manager of the Stettler Elks Golf and Country Club said they would be organizing this year’s men’s open tournament over the weekend with the first day shot gun time at 10 a.m.
