The Stettler Imperials are riding high in the East Central Senior Men's Hockey League.
Stettler opened 2025 with a pair of back-to-back home wins on Jan. 3 and 4, adding on to the lengthy list of wins the team had strung together.
In fact, Stettler hasn't lost a game since a 3-2 loss against the Sedgewick Sabres on Nov. 15.
Stettler's Jan. 3 game was a dominating game against the Hughenden Jets, which Stettler won with a margin of 8-3, despite the Jets out-shooting the Imperials 42-39.
Ethan and Erik Rost were both dominant in the game, with Ethan picking up the hat trick and Erik picking up a pair of goals as well.
The Imperials hosted the fourth-place Provost Combines on Jan. 4 in a closely contested game.
Winning in a narrow 4-3 victory, Stettler's Adam Ternes picked up a pair of goals.
Turning the tide for Stettler was Provost drawing a large number of penalties; two of the Imperials' goals were on the powerplay.
With the win, Stettler moves into first overall with 20 points, secured with a 10-3-0 record.
Stettler sits two points ahead of the Oyen Eagles and the Sedgewick Sabres, who are both tied for second place in the standings.
Stettler's next game is Jan. 17, in Oyen before returning home on Jan. 25 against the Sabres, which will be the final regular season home game for the team.
