Stettler peewee Panthers lost 56-0 to Red Deer Steelers over the weekend in the last regular season game, setting their sights on this weekend’s game on home court.

Head coach Gary Sorenson said Steelers was one of the powerhouse teams of the football league and that his young team could not put up much of a resistance to their strong presence on the field.

“We had about to 35 to 40 yards of offense, that was it,” Sorenson said.

“We had many kids hurt again, we had eight players injured during the game.”

“Our passing was not very bad, completing four of 10 but for only about 25 yards in total.”

“We are just playing against teams that are a bit better quality than ourselves,” he said. “We had a very hard time blocking them.”

The Panthers host this weekend Sylvan Lake, the first team they played against and won at the beginning of the season.

“We are hoping to have good game with them,” said coach Sorenson.
