Mixed results for Stettler minor soccer teams

U14 girls ended up losing 2-1 to Camrose, but while the score didn't show a win, the game was not a disappointment for coach Kennedy Fisher.

Stettler's U14 girls ended up losing their home game 2-1 to the visiting Camrose on Wednesday, May 27, but while the score didn't show a win, the game was not a total disappointment for coach Kennedy Fisher.

"It was an unfortunate loss because the girls worked very hard. Especially in the last couple of minutes we had a lot of chances and really pressed but just couldn't make it happen," Fisher said.

"But the girls have improved so much and it's games like these that really exemplify that," she added. "Both myself and the other coaches are extremely proud of them and how much they've developed throughout the season."

In other games, Stettler U12 boys defeated Camrose 7-2 on Tuesday, May 26 and won handsomely 6-1 over Ponoka on Thursday, May 28.

U12 girls defeated Ponoka yet again, with a score of 5-0 on Thursday, May 28.

U14 boys had a tough game against Sylvan Lake but managed come out with a 5-4 win on Wednesday, May 27.

U16 boys however, lost their away game to Lacombe on Tuesday, may 26 with a 4-1 score.

U16 girls lost 4-1 to Camrose in an away game on Tuesday, May 26 but tied with Lacombe 2-2 at home two days later.

U18 girls won over Sylvan Lake with a convincing 3-0 result at home on Wednesday, May 27.
