Minor hockey teams in early winning mode

In pre-season minor hockey action, Stettler’s peewee A Kinsmen Storm played Sylvan Lake Lakers on Friday Oct . 22 in game which ended in a 7-7 tie. Jaden Richards scored three goals for the local side in addition to one each by Cooper Smyth, Scott Verhoeven, Luke Skocdopole and Steven McCrea. They also played Killam/Sedgewick on Sunday, Oct 24 in another tied game with a 5-5 score. Axel Bergstrom, Steven McCrea, Daniel Schwarzenberger, Brett Coleman and Kyle Poapst scored one goal each. Peewee Storma A play at home this weekend against Bashaw/Alix at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30.

The Well’s Furniture female bantam team faced the Innisfail Flyers on Oct 17 and won 8-2 with three goals scored,Grace Chapman and one each by by Harlee Avramenko, Autumn Woelk, Morgan VanDusen, Kelsey Litke, and Sarah Imbery.

On Friday, Oct. 22 the girls were also victorious with a 5-2 win over Lacombe/Bentley team. Goal scorers were Autumn Woelk and Ronni Burrow with two goals each, and Kelsey Litke. The girls’ first home game is on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 1:45 vs Sylvan Lake.

Midget A Storm had their first game in Tier 2 Friday night , Oct. 22 in Stettler against Castor and beat them 2 – 1. Scorers were Elliott Mabbott and Mckenzie Rost.
