Minor hockey in final month of regular season games

Minor hockey is winding down and teams are looking to the post-season.

Minor hockey is winding down and teams are looking to the post-season, but there were still regular season games happening across the region.

On Feb. 6, the Stettler Atom A Storm headed to Rimbey, where they won 8-1. Bret Hymers and Cole Van Ringen scored twice, while Carter Zuk, Carter Kranzler, Colby Frank and Caleb Couch each scored once. The team hosted the Sylvan Lake Lakers the next day, losing with a close 5-4 score. Quin Hansel scored twice, and Hymers and Reid Shirley scored once each.

Atom B Storm hosted the Caroline Colts on Feb. 6, losing 8-2. Wyatt Streit and Kaden Muhlbach scored. The next day, the team hosted the Big Valley Swordmen, losing 12-5. Muhlbach scored twice, with solos from Tyler Miller, Hayden Baker and Xavier Snowden scoring solos.

On Feb. 7, Stettler Atom C Storm hosted the Sundre Huskies, losing 11-2. Brandon Enyedy and Connor Blake scored for Stettler.

The same day, the Stettler Peewee A Storm hosted the Lacombe Rockets, tying 4-4. Chance Morbeck scored twice, with solos from Zachary Bryson and William Praski.

The Stettler Peewee B Storm headed to Hughenden on Feb. 6, losing 8-3. Goals by Dawon Campbell, Jacob Cottam and Tyson Brower kept the game from being a shut-out.

The Stettler Bantam Storm lost 3-0 to the Thunderstars on Feb. 5, and lost again the next day to the Battle River Knights 5-2. Goals by Andrew Chapman and Connor Wyness.

Saturday saw the Midget A Storm beat Canmore 5-1 at home. Matt Sylvester scored twice, and was joined by solos from Brett Coleman, Kameron Bainbridge and Paul Du Toit. The team repeated their winning ways the following day, smashing Strathmore 9-0. Tye Mulgrove scored four goals, Bainbridge two, and solos were scored by Drew Cassidy, Coleman and Sylvester.

The Stettler Midget B Storm headed to Viking, where they lost in a close 6-5 match. Brayden Smith scored twice, and was augmented by goals by Chase Dolliver, Brenden Tucker and Sheldon Bridge.

The only female league team to play this week was the Stettler Midget Female Storm, who lost 4-3 to Leduc. Kierra Scollo, Jamie-Lee Spady and Halley Adams scored.
