Minor hockey action in full swing, Blizzards victorious

Stettler Dairy Queen Blizzards scored a spectacular home game victory over the weekend, beating Thorsby Thunder 11-0 and consolidating their second place in the standings in the Tier 2 peewee hockey action.

Many players contributed to the win with Tanner Steinwand, Quade Cassidy and Ethan Rost scoring two goals each while Matthew Sylvester, Quentin Greenwood, Jordan lee, Denton Repchuk and Jace Salmon added one each.

The Blizzards are just behind Killam Warriors in the standings with six wins and 15 points.

In the atom division, Stettler Storm and Stettler Storm Elks both lost in their Tier 5 away games over the weekend.

Storm Elks lost 6-4 to Blackfalds Bulldogs while Stettler Storm lost to Three Hills Kneehill Chiefs 8-1. Kamerson Bainbridge (2), Ashley Sharpe and Chase Walton scored for Storm Elks and Eduard Kim scored for the Storm.

In the bantam divisionTier 1, Stettler Scotiabank Storm lost to Camrose Bulldogs with Dylan Houston (2), Micah Crocker and Riley Anderson scoring the goals for the local boys.
