The Grade 9 boys’ basketball team competed in a tournament over the weekend weekend at Hunting Hills High School in Red Deer and finished fourth.
The team played Crowther Memorial School from Strathmore on Friday night and won 44-21.
On Saturday, Wm. E Hay boys faced a tough Hunting Hills team and lost in 46-44.
“It was a nailbiter” said coach Norbert Baharally.
In the third place game, Stettler boys came up short, losing 71-35 to a strong and aggressive Ponoka team.
“Top scorers for the weekend were Nicholas Baharally, Justin Fleischhacker and Stephen Zuk,” said Baharally.
“Justin Dadensky was given a PHD award for Pride, Hustle and Desire over the three games played.”
Grade 9 boys travel to Big Valley, today, Wednesday, Feb. 2.
