Home field advantage helps Storm improve

The Stettler Storm played host to Forestburg on Wednesday, June 16 and used the home court advantage to win the game with a score of 5 to 4.

In their third home game in the Battle River Men’s Baseball League, the Storm demonstrated improvement in both offense and defense, particularly in the latter innings of the game.

The Storm was trailing the game 4 to 3 heading to the bottom of the seventh inning.

“Then we posted a rally and were able to score two runs in the inning to win the game’” said Scott McKenzie of the Storm.

“Brady Armstrong pitched six 1/3 innings and Reid Kelley pitched the final two outs in the seventh inning,” he added,

Th Storm’s record now sits at two wins and three losses with four games remaining in the regular league schedule.

The Storm was looking forward to repeating last week’s home game win in another home game on Tuesday, June 22.

As the Independent went to press, the Storm was hosting Spring Lake with a view to bringing their record to three and three.

This will be the last home game for the Stettler with the reamining two games to be played in Lougheed and Castor.

Logheed game is scheduled for Thursday, June 24 and and the Castor game is on Wednesday, June 30.
