Halkirk Hicks rodeo attracts regional 4-H'ers

Halkirk Hicks 4-H Club hosted a rodeo over the weekend with 57 competitors representing 10 4-H clubs in the area taking part in two days of events.

On Saturday night, June 12, an inter-club calf scramble was held and $250 was raised to go to the “Town of Castor Fund for Kids”.

Madelyn Schauer won both pole bending and barrel racing events in the junior category on both days.

Kara Spady won the seniors’ barrel racing event on the both the first and the second days of the event with the runner up Lesley Liknes on both days.

Elliott Mabbott was the winner of senior pole bending event on both days of the competition. He also won the goat tying events in senior actegory on both days.

In the senior steer riding category Luke Nibourg was the winner with jeremy Boulding taking second place.

In the junior goat tying category, Katelyn Dahmer won the first day’s event with Logan Spady coming second. Spady won the foirst place on the second day with the second place going to Madelyn Schauer.
