Making up the train – Skaters of ages between three and 18 will make up several sliding trains on the ice as part of their show “The Starlight Express” when they perform at the Stettler Recreation Centre on Sunday

Preparations are in full swing for the next performance of the Stettler Figure Skating Club, which will feature another well known show.

Some 90 skaters of ages between three to 18 will take part in the two-hour long show, Starlight Express, featuring Andrew Lloyd Weber’s music.

The theme is one of a young boy dreaming of trains racing and the skaters will be making up these trains as they move on ice.

The choreography for the performance was created by the club’s coach Cindy Savage.

“The skaters have worked very hard for the show,” said Savage as the rehearsals were going ahead at the Stettler Recreation Centre.

“We have a lot of community support and it is going to be great fun.”

Two performances are scheduled for Sunday, March 28. The first performance will be start at noon and the second at 4 p.m.
