Fifty competitors in Stettler’s third annual Triple Threat Triathlon braved the adverse weather conditions to complete a demanding race Saturday .
The athletes began the competition with indoors swimming lengths before braving the chilly weather and constant rain for the bike and run portion of the triathlon.
Those competing in the Try-a-Tri completed 400 meters in the pool, 10.4 km on the bike and then ran 2.1 km. Those competing in the sprint event swam 750 meters, biked 20.8 km and ran 5 km.
A surprising crowd of family members, friends and community members also braved the weather to cheer on the athletes armed with banners and signs and were very vocal.
