Alana Skocdopole keeps improving

Alana Skocdopole, one of Stettler region’s most promising athletes, keeps raising the bar in her swimming endeavour with news of better times in every event she competes in.

Alana Skocdopole, one of Stettler region’s most promising athletes, keeps raising the bar in her swimming endeavour with news of better times in every event she competes in.

Now continuing her swimming practice with Red Deer’s Catalina Club, Skocdopole achieved some new heights at the 2010 Alberta senior provincial swimming championships, which took place in Medicine Hat between Jan. 29 and Jan. 31.

In four of the races she joined, Skocdopole finished in the top five: 4th place in 200 and 100 fly, 5th place in 50 fly and 800 free.

She also set new western national times in 800 freestyle and 200 fly.

She also contributed to new club record in the 4 x 200 freestyle relay competition.

Alana Skocdopole and her team will next compete at western Canadian Championships in Saskatoon on Feb. 18-21.
