Once again it is time to recognize all the Stettler Minor Hockey teams who give endless hours of excitement and enjoyment to the numerous parents and fans within the area. You make hockey fun! There are fifteen teams from atom to midget in the North Central Minor Hockey Association NCMHA league plus a local novice and mites house league program. That makes about three hundred and thirty plus kids playing hockey. Every team has about four coaches and one manager and each team can potentially play between fifteen to twenty five league games a season plus tournaments and playoffs. That’s a lot of hockey.
An association of this size would not survive without the numerous volunteers and organizers, coaches, managers, officials, sponsors and board members who help make it all happen. Thank you from Stettler Minor Hockey.
Many people know about the amount of work it takes to keep the teams going all season and parents can be proud of the support and dedication given to their local minor hockey association. We would also like to acknowledge our community sponsors for contributions, the town for special rates, local business for monetary donations, and to community members for numerous hours spent supporting any particular event.
Our unified jersey program is an example of the collective efforts made by many for the benefit of the association. If you visit a rink at any given time in Alberta you can recognize where most teams are from by the jersey they are wearing. Stettler has also adopted this program and SMHA hopes all teams will have new jerseys by the beginning of the next season.
The executive of the Stettler Minor Hockey Association would like to wish all SMHA teams the best of luck in their respective tiers in the upcoming playoffs. The best of luck to all teams vying for provincials. We are a proud association and take pride in the conduct and accomplishments of our teams.
