Almost 50 kids from central Alberta converged on Stettler this past Saturday and Sunday, June 7-8, for the annual 4H Horse Club and Stettler Silver Stars rodeo.

This was the third year for the event, and the second of four planned 4H rodeos in east-central Alberta for the season.

4H members from Stettler, Halkirk, Hanna, Tees, Neutral Hills, Cadogan, Morrin, Bashaw and Three Hills took part in the event, which also featured a dance Saturday evening.

The stands at the Stettler Agricultural Grounds were steadily full of family and friends who came to watch the kids compete in different events, such as barrel racing, steer riding, breakaway and team roping, keyhole riding, pole bending, and goat tying.

If you missed the Stettler Silver Stars 4H Rodeo, you can still catch some rodeo action at Halkirk this coming weekend, June 14-15, as the Halkirk Hicks host the third of four central Alberta 4H rodeos.
