The third-place Stettler Imperials finished their season on a high note when they faced off against the Coronation Royals on Feb. 8 in Castor.

Stettler was up by five early in the third period, with scoring coming from up and down the bench. 

Imperial Dylan Houston notched goals 21 and 22 for the season to close out the first period and in the middle of the second. Brendan Bardwell picked up a goal and an assist and Cody Wright picked up a pair of assists.

The lone goal for the Royals was scored by Tanner Eno with just over three minutes left in the third period, and Imperial Brendan Tucker answered back less than a minute later, finishing scoring.

The Imperials downed the Royals 6-1, outshot the Royals 39-25, and spent 12 minutes in the penalty box compared to the Royals 14 minutes.

With the win, the Imperials are tied for third place in the East Central Senior Men's Hockey League, with 28 points, one point behind the tied for first Provost Combines and Sedgewick Sabres.

The Stettler Imperials will face the sixth-place Irma Aces in the playoffs beginning Feb. 15 at home in a best-of-five series.
