Writer says leave Main Street stalls for shoppers

Only a short walk from public parking lots to Main Street businesses

Dear editor,

After working as a clerk in downtown Stettler for the past 20 years, I have heard a lot of customer complaints regarding no available parking. I would like to encourage business owners to ask their staff to park off Main Street.

We are lucky to have two large free parking lots that allow staff parking within a block of their workplace. Compare this convenience to a city centre employee who may pay dearly to park close to work…or ride a bus, transfer to another bus and then walk six more blocks in order to arrive at work each day.

Thanks for your consideration to free up prime parking spots for valued customers.

Joan Strandberg, Stettler
