Budget 2025 reflects our commitment to supporting families, strengthening our economy, and investing in the essential services that Albertans rely on every day.

With the rising cost of living, we are ensuring that Albertans keep more of their hard-earned money while also making strategic investments to sustain our province’s growth and prosperity.

One of the most significant measures in Budget 2025 is a historic tax cut aimed at easing financial pressures on families.

The introduction of an eight per cent personal income tax bracket for income up to $60,000 will provide much-needed relief, saving individual Albertans an average of $750 and families up to $1,500.

More importantly, this tax cut is being fully implemented two years ahead of schedule, showing our commitment to helping Albertans now.

Despite challenges like population growth, public sector bargaining, and tariff threats, Alberta remains financially responsible while funding essential services needed in our growing province.

Budget 2025 includes a $5.2 billion deficit to address these issues, reflecting sensible financial management. To prepare for future costs, we’ve increased the contingency fund to $4 billion for bargaining, disasters, and economic shifts.

Our growing population demands more services, and the government is responding with Alberta’s largest health care and education budgets.

This budget includes $28 billion for health care, with $22.1 billion to expand access, surgeries, and hospital facilities. Another $1.7 billion supports mental health and addiction services, while $3.8 billion funds seniors, community, and social services, including assisted living, home care, and social housing.

To support economic growth and prepare Albertans for the jobs of today and tomorrow, Budget 2025 makes significant investments in workforce development.

Hundreds of millions of dollars are allocated for trades and in-demand skills, ensuring that Alberta remains a leader in economic diversification and job creation.

Rural communities, which play a vital role in our province’s success, will benefit from billions of dollars in targeted investments aimed at enhancing infrastructure and economic opportunities.

Alberta’s government is also investing in infrastructure through the 2025 Capital Plan, which dedicates $26.1 billion over the next three years to address growth pressures, support economic development, and create opportunities for private sector involvement.

This plan is expected to support an average of 26,500 jobs annually through 2027-28, providing a significant boost to our economy. Key investments include $2.5 billion for roads and bridges, with $221 million earmarked for highway twinning, widening, and expansion projects.

Finally, our government is focused on securing Alberta’s long-term financial future through a bold plan to grow the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund to $250 billion by 2050.

By reinvesting interest accrued from the fund, we are ensuring that future generations will benefit from a strong and stable economy.

Budget 2025 underlines our commitment to being the best place in Canada to live, work, and raise a family. By providing tax relief, investing in critical services, and ensuring financial stability, we are building a prosperous future for all Albertans.
