The Scapa Strawberry Tea is set for Monday, June 6 at the Scapa Community Hall. The tea begins at 2 p.m. and all are welcome with admission by donation.

The Strawberry Tea has been a long-running tradition at Scapa and it’s good to see it back.

Byemoor School students completed swimming lessons during the month of April at the Stettler Recreation Centre. They travelled to Stettler by bus.

The Byemoor 4-H Beef Show and Sale is fast approaching at the Stettler Agri-plex. The heifer show goes on Monday, May 23 starting with the Cleaver Show at 1:30 p.m. The steer show begins at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24 with the sale set for 7 p.m. Come out and support the 4-Her’s from Byemoor, Big Knife, Big Valley and Erskine as they showcase their projects.

Remember the Byemoor School Educational Society is planning a fun day on Friday, May 27 at the Byemoor Community Hall with afternoon ballgames and a barbeque supper. It is open to all in the community.

If you haven’t got tickets to the Dueling Pianos show yet contact Rebecca Schofer at 403-334-2248 or on Facebook. Dueling Pianos is on Saturday, May 28 at the Endmoor Arena in Byemoor. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30 p.m. with the music of 176 Keys. The show is a fundraiser of the Sullivan Lake West Agricultural Society. Tickets are $50 for the supper and show.

Betty Campbell’s new home has arrived. She has located it on the former yard site of Les and Shirley Campbell’s farm just outside of Byemoor. Congratulations Betty on your new home, we hope you enjoy it to the fullest.

Clearview Public Schools has announced that Jeffery Aarts will be the new principal at Byemoor School for the upcoming term. Jeff taught at Castor and Coronation prior to accepting the position in Byemoor. Long-time principal and teacher at Byemoor, Gwen Keith, will be retiring following this school term.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Olwin Pearson on Saturday, May 21 at 11:45 a.m. at the Byemoor Community Hall. Olwin passed away on Nov. 29, 2021.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Kathy Komishke (nee Lane) on Monday, May 23 from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Stettler Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Lake View Cemetery at Stettler at 1 p.m. Kathy passed away on May 19, 2021.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Barbara Schilling on Saturday, May 28 at 2 p.m. at the Halkirk Community Hall. Barbara passed away on Jan. 29, 2022.

It’s a busy time on the farm, farmers are finishing up seeding, gardeners are planting their gardens and ranchers are having branding bees to get the calves branded, vaccinated and out to pasture.
