RIPPER
(nee Holgate)
Yvonne Olive Ripper (nee Holgate) was born May 6, 1941 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Her life's journey ended when she returned to God on December 19, 2011 in Stettler, Alberta. Olive was a mother, a grandmother, a sister and a friend. She is predeceased by her mother Martha Matilda (nee Wagner), her father Edward and her daughter Sandra Lynn. She is survived by a daughter: Laurraine Yvonne and her sons Dorian Dewain and Dustan Thomas, and also by a son Dean Sutherland (Vivienne) and their sons Ian Sutherland and Neil Hamilton. In addition, Olive is survived by a brother Philip (Verna) Holgate, their three daughters: Vicki, Patricia and Christy and their families.
Olive was a gentle soul who saw the good in everything. She will be remembered and missed by many, many friends and work associates within the community of Stettler. She was a well respected woman within the community where she ran and operated the H&R Block office for many years. She had a reputation for being hard working, organized, reliable and honest. Simply stated, her work ethic was, "If you can't do something right the first time, don't do it at all." She lived by those words and passed them along to her children.
A memorial service was held for Olive at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Stettler, Alberta on December 29, 2011.
