William Henry Armstrong (Bill) was born on December 8, 1931 on the farm at Erksine, AB

He passed away peacefully at the Stettler Hospital Complex on March 4, 2016 at the age of 84 years.

Leaves to mourn: his wife Louise (Bauman), children Fred (Marlene) Armstrong, Steve (Karen) Armstrong, Linda (Derwin) Deems, John (Kelly) Armstrong; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren: Trevor (Zheng) Armstrong -Lilja, Tyrus, Amanda (Craig) Paskuski - Owen, Reid, Megan (Russel) Yoshihara - Keely, Greyson, Craig (AJ) Armstrong - Kolby, Kingsley, Kortney, Kent (Jaclyn) Armstrong, Rod (Alicia) Armstrong - Hailey, Mason, Tyler, Ricky Armstrong, Carly Armstrong, Ron (Carrie) Deems - Hunter, Ryan (Amber) - Jack, Ray (Erin) Deems, Miles (Krista) Armstrong - Hannah, Zach Armstrong, Brady (Marie) Armstrong; numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends as well as dear friends Mel and Pat Kelm and Richard Hand.

Bill is predeceased by: daughter Glenda, parents Fred and Helena Armstrong, sister Dorothy, her husband Harold Fouts, brothers Jack his wife Peggy, George, his wife Vera; in-laws Fritz and Audrey Bauman, Joyce and Ken Bauman, Mary Sims (Bauman), Martin Bauman, nephews Warren Bauman and Don Irwin.

He was raised in the Erskine area where he attended school through grade 12. He started farming at a young age with his father. Bill married the love of his life Louise Bauman on June 22, 1955. They had 5 children Fred, Steve, Linda, Glenda and John. As the kids grew he coached on many of their teams including baseball and curling. Time on the farm included haying, bale hauling and combining, where everyone had a job doing something. If you weren't big enough to touch the pedals or brake you made due by standing up or whatever worked to get the job done. As the boys got older, Bill and Louise took many trips south with friends ending up as far south as Arizona, traveling all over the western States. They never once travelled on an airplane. They continued the friendships at home playing cards and visiting with many good neighbors.

Visitation will be on Friday March 11, 7:30 pm at Stettler Funeral Home. A celebration of life for Bill will be held at Stettler Funeral Home on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 3 pm.
