MATIER, Wayne
Wayne Matier was born in Ashcroft, B.C. on May 11th, 1938 and passed away on Saturday, November 21st, 2009 at the Stettler Hospital at the age of 71 years. He grew up on the farm north of Alix where he later took over from his father and continued to farm until his retirement in 1990. Wayne also drove school bus for 26 years. He is survived by his loving wife Eunice; his children: Lesley (Roger) of Calgary, Sandra (Doug) of Alix, and Rod (Tanya) of Tees; his brother Allen (Pat) of Fort Saskatchewan; as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Wayne was predeceased by his father Albert and mother Kathy. A Funeral Service was held at the Alix Community Hall at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27th with the Interment Service following at the Alix Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Diabetes Association or any charity of your choice.
