June 3, 1947 - August 19, 2019
A kind and generous man, Wayne Darryl Duke departed this life on August 16, 2019. He was born June 3, 1947 in Halkirk, Alberta and was 72 years of age. Wayne was a highly successful business owner in Calgary and loved his work. He made many life-long friends working in Oil & Gas, many of whom he treated as family. Wayne was incredibly involved in charity work and was willing to go the extra mile to help out a worthy cause. Wayne was also an avid pilot and would take anyone willing to ride in his Cessna, anywhere they wanted to go, including South America.
He is survived by his two children, Lana Jacki and Kevin Wayne, son-in-law John and two grandchildren, Morgan and Aidan Davies. He had a large immediate family; survived by Doug (Virginia), Fred (Carol), and Lois Duke. Preceded in death by mother, Alice Duke, father, William, older brother Torry Ryane (Keith Duke), and younger brother Kelly. Wayne has a multitude of nieces and nephews he loved very much, and who loved and adored him in return.
Wayne's family would like to thank the caring and amazing staff and other residents at The Journey Club in Westman Village for their kindness, caring and love of our father. You go through life wondering what it's all about, but at the end of the day, it's about family.
Graveside Services will be held at the Halkirk Cemetery in Halkirk, Alberta at 1:00 pm on Sunday September 13th, 2020. All friends and family are welcome.
