MONAGHAN
Veree Lynn Monaghan of Stettler formerly of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2010 in the Edmonton University Hospital, at the age of 47 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband Doug Monaghan; two loving children, Michael and Katherine; her parents, Fred and Naudia Seefried; one brother, Dale (Vicki) Seefried of Biggar, Saskatchewan; two sisters, Debra (Bob) Ridley and Roxane (Jim) Gechter all of Medicine Hat; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Doug's parents, Jim and Kathleen Monaghan. Veree was born on August 23, 1962 in Medicine Hat where she was raised and graduated from Medicine Hat High School in 1980. Later that year she moved to Cornwall, Ontario where she was enrolled in the Air Traffic Control Course. Upon completion of her schooling, she was stationed at Peace River, Alberta and then Tuktoyaktuk, N.W.T. It was there that she met the love of her life, Doug, they were married in Calgary on May 27, 1989. In 1991 they moved to Medicine Hat. Veree was the first female manager for the Medicine Hat Cypress Club in 1999. In 2002, Veree moved with her family to Stettler. The funeral service was held in the PATTISON CHAPEL (Medicine Hat) on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Loren Hosfield officiating. Interment followed in the Hillside Cemetery.
