Vernie was born on December 9, 1918 in Mirror, Alberta and passed away on February 28, 2011 in Camrose, Alberta. Vernie is survived by her son Brian & his wife Tracy and their daughter Jennifer (Kolin) Friske; daughter-in-law Sharon and her children Tina (Ravi) Hauck-Pillay, Darlene (Kevin) Redelback and Ron (Aileen) Hauck; grandchildren Darryl (Cheryl) Randolph and Jeff Randolph; nine great-grandchildren; her best friend John Satre; her half brothers Bob (Faye), Jim (Pat) and Phil (Shirley) Sparks; as well as many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Leo; her daughter and son-in-law Carol & Wayne Randolph and their son Lyle; her son Ken; her sister Louise and brother Chester. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bashaw United Church with Reverend Robin King officiating.
