Stewart William

Stewart William Snell, son of Bill and Mary Snell, grew up with sisters Grace and Hazel, brothers Ross and Charlie on the family farm south west of Oyen, Alberta and loved the farming life. After marrying Julia on October 15, 1945 they ran a successful farming operation until 1953 then moved to Oyen. Stewart took up the craft of carpentry for most of the rest of his working time. The family moved to Stettler in 1962 and has resided there since. Stewart and Julia raised two sons, Gordon Snell (predeceased in 2010) (Sharon) and son Donald (Sharon) Snell; grandchildren, Tara Lee Hanson, Stacie (Kevin) Lodewyk, Carlie (Jim) Barath and Brett (Denise) Snell; great grandchildren, Kalee, Jory and Avery. There are also numerous nieces and nephews. Stewart and Julia along with the rest of the family enjoyed many pastimes including family socials, hunting, camping, making walking sticks or canes and especially fishing and gardening. Stewart enjoyed all the memorable family occasions over the years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be missed by us
all. A private family memorial was held honoring his memory.
