In loving memory ~
Shirley was born January 16, 1952, in New Westminster, B.C. She moved to Drumheller at an early age with her friend Shirley Carr, where she met her partner in life, Ralph. They married on April 10, 1971 and lived, worked, and raised their boys in Stettler, Alberta. In 2004, after 33 years, Ralph and Shirley moved to Red Deer for a new start with new experiences. Ultimately, Ralph and Shirley moved to the Village of Gull Lake to live on a beach, spend time with their grandkids and enjoy life with family and friends while also spending many summers traveling.
Shirley had a strong and accepting spirit. She encouraged her family to try new things and be courageous in their lives. Family was always the most important thing to Shirley and she spent her time watching and providing encouragement to her children and grandchildren. Shirley also spent her time staying active with a regular gym schedule, quilting, and trips to visit family and friends out of town.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Ralph, and sons Rodney (Sukhwinder) of Calgary, their children Priya and Seamus and Christopher (Leah) of Lacombe, their children Caylan, Kenna, and Braden. Also, survived by her brother Norman Marr (Louise), of Nanaimo B.C. sister, Dorothy Tuba (Dave) of Merritt, B.C. As well, she leaves nieces, nephews and their family's which she cherished with all of her heart. Along with an abundance of extended family and friends.
Shirley was diagnosed with cancer on December 10th, 2024 and passed away peacefully at home with Ralph by her side on April 6, 2025 at the age of 73.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents, brothers Vernon and Bob, sister-in-law Barb and nephew Craig.
Special thanks to all the health care providers that took the time to go out of their way and make Shirley comfortable throughout the last 4 months.
In honoring Shirley's wishes, no funeral service will be held.
