Ruth was born November 12, 1929 on the family farm by Red Willow, AB to Gustav and Emma Hilker. She passed away at Heritage House on October 2, 2018.
Ruth will always be remembered from her time working at the Club Cafe, Stagecoach Inn and the Royal Canadian Legion. She was kind and loving and "Mom" and "Grandma" to many. Ruth loved music and old time dancing. She loved to always cook a roast beef on Sundays. She baked the best chiffon cakes and buns which helped to keep the boys filled up. When it was Christmas, she decorated the whole house and the tree was covered with so many icicles it looked silver.
Ruth is survived by her children Donna Hulkovich, Don (Diane) Bauer, Dave Bauer, Dennis (Colleen) Bauer, Debbie (Rick) Doell; grandchildren Cheryl (Ron) Woods, Bill (Nev) Hulkovich, Terri (Tim) Grills, Tara (Kraig) Radtke, Adam (Shantel) Bauer, Marny (Trevor Andrie) Bauer, Darren Bauer, Justin Bauer, Chris (Christina) Bauer, Michelle Bauer-Kelts, Jocelyn Bauer, Melanie (Lee) Bates, Christine (Trevor) Wedrick, Braydon Doell; all her great-grandchildren; sister Leona Watson and many other family and friends.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents Gustav and Emma Hilker, partner Ken Holden, sister Pearl Piche and brothers Leslie Hilker and Donald Hilker. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at a later date.
