March 8, 1944 - March 12, 2022
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mom Ruby on March 12, 2022. Predeceased by her parents Salme and Albert Hennel, husband Peter, and sister Nancy. Ruby will be lovingly remembered by her sister Joan, children and grandchildren Connie (Neil), Pam (Jeff, Taryn, Evan), and Peter (Lisa, Cooper, Peter).
Born and raised in Stettler, Ruby attended business school and moved east where she lived in Montreal, Hamilton, and Toronto before settling in Calgary where she spent the next 50 years. Mom volunteered for many years at Fred Seymour and R.T. Alderman schools and later worked at Royal LePage until her retirement.
Mom loved traveling, gardening and was fiercely loyal to her family. Her door was always open and her table always full. She celebrated family milestones over masterfully prepared meals and a bottle of wine. You knew how much she loved you by the size of the bounty on the table. She fed a generation of kids because everyone was always welcome in her home throughout the years.
