Roy Lincoln, long-time resident of Stettler, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2012 at Heritage House, Stettler. Roy was born in Blackie Alberta on September 4, 1922. His family moved to Stettler in 1928 and Stettler was his home for 83 years. During WWII, he served with the Calgary Tanks and was taken prisoner of war at Dieppe. Roy was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Roy was predeceased by his parents, first wife Bertha, his son Murray, sister Irene and brother-in law Oliver Ingram. Roy will be remembered by Rose, his wife of 59 years, his daughters Ava and Kathy and her husband Bill Calvert, his sister Doreen (George) Hughes, his sisters-in-law, Frances Hallett and Mae Blaus and his nieces and nephews; as well as many friends. If desired, donations in Roy's memory may be made to The Salvation Army, World Vision or a charity of your choice, c/o Box 1780, Stettler, AB T0C 2L0. Sincere thanks are offered to the dedicated and caring staff of Heritage House whose ongoing compassion and assistance will always be remembered. A memorial gathering was held at Stettler Legion, Branch #59 on Monday, March 19, 2012.
