On Monday, May 19, 2008 Roland Davis passed away peacefully at the age of 97 years in the Stettler Health Care Centre. Roland will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gladys of 64 years; his five children Betty (Harold King), Wayne (Cheryl) Davis, Elaine (Lloyd Brown, deceased), Valerie (Jim Robbins), Joyce (Don Kraus); 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brother Arthur (Barb) Davis; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Roland worked in the mines in the Halkirk, AB area for 23 years before moving to Edmonton in 1950. He spent five years working with an oil company before spending 21 years working for the provincial government. After retirement he enjoyed spending many hours at the Sherwood Oak Senior Center floor curling and playing shuffleboard. He loved playing cards right up until his eyesight failed. Roland moved to Stettler, AB two and half years ago. Service was held on Friday, May 23, 2008 in the Heartland Chapel of Stettler Funeral Home with Rev. David Denholm of Stettler United Church officiating. Interment was at the Lake View Cemetery, Stettler.
