WOODFORD
Mr. Perry Lester Woodford passed away on October 19, 2010 at the Stettler Health Care Centre at the age of 87. Perry was born in Akron, Ohio on August 10, 1923 to Perry and Minnie Woodford. Perry met Ruby Simpson and they were married September 15, 1944 in Lansing, Michigan. He ministered throughout the eastern United States and came to Canada in 1961. They raised a family of six boys and one girl. Perry is survived by his wife of 66 years Ruby of Stettler; children: Paul (Sue) of Okemos, Michigan, Tim (Tricia) of Milford, Delaware, James (Lorna) of Lacombe, John (Lori) of Mississauga, ON, Peter (Sarah) of Penhold and Joylene (Brad) Knapp of Eckville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister in law Joyce Hatch of Lansing, Michigan. He was predeceased by his parents, parents in law, son David Woodford and grandson David Woodford. Funeral services were held at the Heartland Chapel of Stettler Funeral Home on Saturday, October 23, 2010 with Pastor Earle Vokes officiating. Several members of the family gave loving tributes about their father and grandfather. Rosemary Vokes played the piano for the congregational hymns. Interment was at Lake View Cemetery with his sons Tim, James, John and Peter Woodford as Pallbearers. Family and friends gathered for a time of sharing and a luncheon at the Heartland Reception Centre. Memorial donations may be made to Gideon's International, Box 802, Stettler, AB T0C 2L0.
