Patsy Marie Strandquist was born July 12, 1949 in Stettler, Alberta to parents Lloyd and Audrey Strandquist and became a sister to Darleen.

Patty passed away April 28, 2018 at the Red Deer Hospital with her family by her side.

Patty grew up in Stettler all her life, attended Waverly School until Grade 9 then graduated from Wm. E. Hay High School. She married her high school sweetheart Terry Schiffner and together they raised their children Brent, Shauna and Scott. On April 13, 2018 they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Patty and Terry operated the Grandview Motel for several years and enjoyed all the many people that came through the doors. Patty worked with AGT for a time and was involved with Victim Services for several years.

Patty enjoyed farm life, her and Terry currently lived on a ranch southeast of Stettler caring for livestock. Her love for animals and her flower gardens; but her family was her joy. She loved the grandchildren and was so thankful for being able to go to Hawaii with them.

Patty is survived by her husband Terry Schiffner; her children Brent (Amiee) Schiffner, Shauna (Clint) Cole and Scott (Brandy) Schiffner; grandchildren: Bryn, Zane, Maysa, Hadley and Oaklyn; sister Darleen (Bill) Taylor; in-laws Randy (Elayne) Schiffner, Cindy (Dino) Putrino; other family and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Audrey as well as the Chapman, Strandquist and Schiffner family members gone before.

Graveside services were held at Lake View Cemetery, Stettler as Patty was laid to rest beside her parents and a memorial service was held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Stettler Funeral Home with Jan Richardson leading the service.

Memories of Mom were presented by her children Brent, Shauna and Scott; and a poem for Grandma was presented by Maysa, Hadley and Oaklyn Schiffner. Evelyn Strandquist and Garry Fix presented their gifts of music; and Shallyn Andersen sang "Welcome Home." Family and friends gathered for a time of fellowship and a luncheon prepared and served by the Church of God in Christ Mennonite Lake View Congregation.

Memorial donations be made to Alberta Cancer Foundation - Red Deer Clinic or the MS Society.
